Here is an update on our opening tours this coming October 2010.
Mark your calendars for our opening art tour on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:15 PM. This tour is entitled "Beyond Photography with Ansen Seale." Ansen is an outstanding artist/photographer and a San Antonio treasure. Presently, he is working on a commission for the newly renovated Lila Cockrell Theater, set to open in November. These works are large, one-of-a-kind backlit photo/sculptures, using the latest in materials and printing technology.
We will visit his studio to see these and other commissions in progress followed by a visit to Ansen’s one-person show at Bismarck Studios. Plan to join us as we celebrate Ansen and his remarkable and truly creative talent.
On Wednesday evening, October 20th we will visit Gallery Nord to see the outstanding Fiber Artists San Antonio annual show followed by a tour through Gary Sweeney’s studio. You don’t want to miss this fun! Gary is a text-based humor-driven, colorful artist who has exhibited in Tokyo, Paris, Vienna, Florence and all over the United States.
October is sure to be a great beginning to the SeeingArtSanAntonio touring season. Please reserve your place now because space is limited to the first 14 people to sign up.

Joining a SeeingArtSanAntonio scheduled tour will give you a great opportunity to meet and talk with the artists about their work, their creative processes and what influences and inspires their art-making. You can even make new friends who share your interest in the arts.
These tours are approximately 2 hours long. You will need to provide your own transportation. Once your reservation has been paid for, you will receive driving directions by email several days before the actual tour. The cost of these tours is listed on our website http//www.seeingartsanantonio.com
And remember that private tours are also available year round. These tours make terrific and unique birthday/anniversary presents. Put a group (2 - 13 people) together and we will provide transportation, snacks, beverages, and, of course, great ART to celebrate your special occasion. Please let us know at least 48 hours in advance. Allowing for even more planning/organizing time can make for an even better tour.
As of February 2010, the 3-hour private tour prices (including transportation) are listed below. Transportation prices are subject to change. Please call to confirm the prices listed:
- 2-3 people Towne Car $ 325 Total
- 4-5 people Mini-van $ 65 per person
- 6-9 people Large van $ 55 per person
- 10-13 people Large van $ 45 per person
